Practical Completion Inspection! Get ready for picture overload!

We are finally there.. at the pointy end of the project. Practical completion was completed today, with a few issues outstanding. We have a tentative date for Handover of 19th June!

Some of the issues - mostly small issues so I don't think we have a lot to worry about at this time.

  • Chip in island bench(about the size of half a match head)
  • Tops of doors not painted
  • Lots of scuff marks/paint touchups required.
  • Some small drill holes to be filled and painted
  • Small chip in one drawer
  • No carpet
  • No shutters
  • Driveway needs fill compacted underneath after rain washed some away
  • Driveway not painted
  • No flyscreens
  • laundry door is hard to open(door bends when trying to open)
  • Some backfill around the laundry landing
  • Brickwork clean - small issues all over but a lot from the brickies doing our neighbors house
  • Some bricks require mortar fill
  • Some levelling of floors in rooms adjacent to wet areas
  • Some door handles requiring adjustment(loose)
And now, some pictures:

Ignore our bags on the bench. I really need to change that power point on the island bench to be less conspicuous.

  3. Thanks guys!

Not long now I hope.. There is a few issues with council - they failed the first inspection today. They want steps at the front and laundry landing, and balustrade to the laundry landing. However, after they inspected, the SS had all those areas backfilled, so I have asked if council are coming back now that there is no longer a 'drop' from these areas.

All the hoops we need to jump through :)

    1. We had the same problem with the drop from our laundry. All they did was pile up some sand into a mound that sloped downward and it was signed off. I'm sure it will be fine :)

  4. I went back yesterday afternoon and they had filled the areas concerned! Looks much better. Also received interim occupancy certificate from council via MJH this morning!

I will have to upload the pics of the backfill soon :)
