Bricks Day 5 Washout

I'm calling it early.  Absolutely hammering down rain outside. Today is a write off. Bricks should dry out by Monday :)

UPDATE:

Took Kel to the station and walked up to have a look.. Lots of water around. Hopefully when the build is complete and the surface water drainage pipes are completed(and the rest of the landscaping..), this will be less of an issue

Weatherzone says we took over 200mm of rain overnight.

Bricks Day 4

Another day with very little action. A lot of rain around at the moment. It is raining outside now, so we are hoping it dries up for tomorrow

So, there was a bit of rain today. A bit of brick work was completed however.

Bricks Day 1

Bricklayers have attended this morning and started work. Not a lot was completed on the first day, but i did not expect that. Hopefully tomorrow we will have a wall or two!

Received notification that the frames had been completed today. We went to have a look after work, and the windows and stacker doors have also been installed!

On the weather front it is still sprinkling intermittently and forecast for more.. With bricks and sand on its way, still hoping for the best! :)

Frames day 3

There was not a lot of noticeable change today. They finished off 'almost' all of the framing but there is a few small bits left. The main bit that I noticed completed, was the roof area over the patio. It kind of makes the facade take on a bit more shape.

OK, so we were excited to get the dunny as it meant that the build was starting, but now, not so sure. It is in every picture of the front! Wish they would move it :)

The conduit for the electricity has also been buried.

I received a call from the site supervisor yesterday. This was our first contact with him. He introduced himself and gave me an update. I don't think he realizes I am only 5 minutes down the road and obsessively drive past the block numerous times per day. Anyway, he said the frames should be completed by Monday and he hopes to have the bricks and brickies on site by the end of the week. If not, the Monday after the weekend(24th Feb?).

On the weather front, it is drizzling outside now. Certainly not building weather. So Mother nature, lets get this rain out of the way before the working week recommences :)

Frames day 2

Well, not a lot to say today other than Wow! It is looking more and more like a house every day. With we weather forecast for the next few days, I am just hoping they can fit in the last ew sections of the roof trusses tomorrow. Hope the rain holds off!

So, we expected the frames to be delivered today.. little did we know they were also going to commence putting them up! Was a nice surprise to come home to!

Termite barrier

Not a great deal happened on the block yesterday. They did come and install the termite barrier though. Did not really expect anything to be done, as the next big thing is the frames, which I have been told should be delivered tomorrow (Wednesday). Sunny weather outside today after a somewhat gloomy start. Just the kind of day you would want to be building a house! :)

Slabbed!

Well, I am a day late with this post. Yesterday the slab was poured and formwork removed(from most of it)

After all this time waiting, we finally have some form of structure on the block that forms part of a house! :)
