I received a call from our slab supervisor today to let me know they
used 27metres for piering. We had an allowance of 50 metres, so looks
like we have a bit of a refund heading our way.We will need it! There is
a couple of hurdles further down the track.
Two that I am thinking about right now:
- Driveway position is right where there is a stormwater drain. Driveway either needs to be changed, or the drain cut out and a grate put in.
- Possible steps required for the front patio - depending on how we landscape here..
During
the call, Matt(slab supervisor) also said that they hope to finish the formwork today,
and if they did, they are planning to pour the slab tomorrow! After a
quick visit to the site this afternoon, it looks like we are ready to
go. Here are the latest pics

Hrmm.. look at the drop edge for the patio. Not sure at this stage how we will landscape this.. Probably a LOT of fill. |
|
I thought there would be enough clearance to store the boat(tinnie) up the side. Now, not so sure..Might just manage to get it up wedged in between the fence and the water tank. The protruding formwork is for the water tank |

Bit of glare in this one, but this is looking at the drop edge from the main house to the garage. (686mm drop) |

And another from directly in front. |
So hopefully tomorrow, we will have a slab! Stay tuned for updates
